Hermione, Lafayette's ship

There's an important event taking place right now as I write this which I wanted to talk about: The famous ship Hermione is taking off once again 235 years later. 

The Hermione was a frigate of the French Navy. She became famous when she ferried General Lafayette to the United States in 1780 to allow him to rejoin the American side in the American Revolutionary War. They restored the ship and it is now departing France (right now, at this very moment!) and will arrive in the USA in two months. (I can't wait until it reaches the US! ) They are doing General Lafayette's travel all over again. It's a project that has been going on for a few decades!

Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier de Lafayette, a.k.a Marquis de Lafayette (6 September 1757 – 20 May 1834), in the U.S. often known simply as Lafayette, was a French aristocrat and military officer who fought for the United States in the American Revolutionary War. A close friend of George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and Thomas Jefferson, Lafayette was a key figure in the French Revolution of 1789 and the July Revolution of 1830.
