Once you've told me I'll tell you a really insane story about this dress ! :D
But I can't say it right now or else I'll spoil everything! XD
So once a few people have commented I'll give you the (crazy) answer in a second journal. ;)
(I was really surprised by what I learnt! O_O)

If you haven't already, please go see my previous journal about the dress. ;)

So this dress has been all over the internet because people see the dress in different colors: you either see it as yellow/gold and white, or blue and black.

When I went to my friend's house she showed it to me and I first saw it as yellow and white. There was no doubt about it! That dress WAS yellow and white! However, my sister saw it as blue and black, and I was extremely surprised. I couldn't understand how she could see it differently.
Then, when I came back home and saw it on my own computer I saw it blue and black! I was completely astonished! How did that happen? I thought.
But I wasn't the only one who was surprised; while doing some research I saw other people's reactions to it:

"I was seeing it in white and gold all over the place, until this thread. Now I ONLY see it in blue and black. I am freaked the fuck out. What is going on?"

"I scrolled down past the dress. It was white and gold. I scrolled back up. It was blue and black. I am currently having a crisis."

"WTF - just used teamviewer to connect to my desktop from my iPhone and saw blue and black. Came back to reddit on my phone and the picture is blue and black. I thought it was just a matter of warm/cold colors on displays making it just different enough, but now I don't trust anything anymore."

"Wait what?? There's no way that's the same dress..."

"HOLY SHIT. I have been staring at the dress for 15 minutes thinking everyone who sees black/blue is insane or colour blind. Then you post this gif. Now all I can see is black/blue. Brain. Hurts."

    "
I still can't see it in white/gold. I'm starting to wonder if this is a prank."

It's kind of funny to see other people's reactions. XD

Here someone gives the answer:

"It's a matter of how your mind interprets the lighting. A white-and-gold dress in cool lighting/shadow could have produced that photo, as could a black-and-blue dress in warm yellow lighting. Your mind determines the colors of the dress based on what it assumes the lighting to be like."

It turns out he was right. I did some in depth research about it and found these videos:

Basically your brain determines what it sees based on it's surroundings. But since the picture of the dress is a close up, your brain doesn't know if the dress is outside, meaning there is an over-exposure of light, or if the dress is inside, meaning there is an under-exposure of light. It has to chose between two possible choices - Choice A or B ? - and makes the decision in a fraction of a second and stays with it. So if you see yellow and white, your brain thought that the black and dark blue was just a shadow that was cast over the dress, so it automatically deletes all the shadows it sees, and you end up with a lighter dress than the original.
If it sees the same image in a different environment, it may understand better what the image is about, and correct your false vision of it.

This is what the dress looks like in gold and white: imgur.com/o1rwjid
And this is what the dress looks like in blue and black: imgur.com/NuetUyX
(Someone played around with the lights in photoshop and replicated the dress in the two different colors)

Blue and black are the real colors of the dress.
Here is a gif that has helped some see the real colors: i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2015/0…

I hope this helped! :D

It was a fun and entertaining experiment. XD

Now we know that ... WE CAN'T TRUST OUR EYES ! XDDD
(It's actually our brain we can't trust. ^^)

Oh No! That means that...
The world... IS A LIE ! O_O

That dress is ridiculous. For me, one picture had it blue and black. Another picture, which was smaller and cropped slightly, was white and gold. If anything... I want that dress!
